Scope

The event is primarily aimed at PhD students, but other motivated researchers are equally welcome. By bringing together expert lecturers from the intersection of computer science and ecology who are interested in the interface between AI applications and biodiversity research, the spring school fosters interdisciplinary exchange. Researchers from all related disciplines can benefit from their participation and establish a professional network with like-minded peers.

Program

The program will include talks, practical workshops, and a field trip. A tentative timeline is provided as follows:

The program will also include evening activities with networking opportunities.

Location and arrival

The BioIntAkt spring school will be held in the town of Volpriehausen, near the city of Göttingen, Germany. While attendees may arrange for their own travel (the train station, served by local trains, is very close to the hotel), a complimentary shuttle transfer from and to Göttingen station is available to participants on request. Updates on the exact departure times of the shuttle service will be shared closer to date.

Participation fees and invoices

Depending on the selected room category (pending availability), participants can expect their total cost of participation to range between 480 and 600 EUR. This amount includes all costs (accommodation, all meals, participation in all workshops and activities, as well as the field trip) except for your individual travel expenses to get to/from the event location.

The spring school is receiving partial financial support by the BMFTR through its funding of the BioIntAkt project.
